The Castagnedi brothers, Armando, Tiziano, Paolo, and Massimo, founded Tenuta Sant’Antonio in 1989, building upon their family’s long-standing winemaking heritage. They inherited 50 acres of vineyards in Valpolicella and expanded their holdings to 75 additional acres. Their first vintage under the Tenuta Sant’Antonio label was released in 1995.
In 2006, the family launched a new project called Scaia, named after the unique chalky soil found in their vineyards. This soil imparts higher acidity and bolder fruit character to the wines. Scaia wines represent a modern approach to Valpolicella and Veneto, with innovative blends and varietal expressions. They are rooted in tradition yet offer a fresh perspective, all at an affordable price point.
