“There’s intensity to this red, which showcases flavors of cherry, boysenberry and blood orange, with iron, underbrush and tobacco notes peeking through as this builds to the lingering aftertaste. An attractive and layered nose of walnuts, ground spices, grilled thyme, red cherries and red plums with a touch of meatiness. The medium-bodied palate is sleek and polished, with juicy acidity and a fine texture. Balanced, with good tension and length.

Ruffino’s Tuscany holdings are really special—there’s no other way to describe it. Armed with a sprawling property that borders Biondi Santi, this is real estate that just about every single wine grower in Italy would kill to have.

Their ‘Tan Label’ Chinati Riserva is a special wine – a bigger, bolder wine than most Chianti that when done right completely knocks it out of the part with fleshy, juicy fruit, amazing balance and tons of energy. It’s a gorgeous blend of Sangiovese Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that sings with or without food and is easily one of the greatest values anywhere in the world, especially in the 2021 vintage that saw it find its way to the #17 spot on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2025.
