This is exactly what I think of when I think of a great summertime Pinot. It’s a delicious, medium-bodied, bright Pinot Noir with soaring aromatics. Great cherry and candied strawberry fruit with baking spices and a natural lift that makes it dangerously easy to drink. Wine Enthusiast gave it their coveted ‘Best Buy’ designation, and described “ripe plum and cherry fruit, dusty tannins, and subtle hints of rosemary adding an intriguing herbal lift.” This is the Pinot you bring to the BBQ, open up for the cheese plate or appetizers, or just pour on a Tuesday night when you could use something good to turn your day around.

The Fournier family has been making wine in the tiny village of Verdigny in Sancerre for generations. Their estate has grown from 13 acres in 1950 to nearly 75 acres today spanning Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, and Menetou-Salon. These people know the Loire Valley better than just about anyone.
Their ‘Patient Cottat’ label is their way of honoring a famous 19th century Master Goldsmith who fell in love with this region and after tasting this Pinot Noir, it’s easy to understand why he would never want to leave.
