Outer quote mark Very pretty aromas and flavors of dried strawberries and plums follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and an intense finish. It’s all in the finish here. Needs at least five years to come together. Impressive structure. Best blended Barolo ever from here. Inner quote mark (3/2014)

Outer quote mark It opens with a classic Nebbiolo fragrance of rose, crushed violets, cinnamon and balsamic notes. The vibrant palate displays intense red cherry with mint, menthol and anisette accents. It’s well balanced and already accessible but will be even better in a few years. (KO) Inner quote mark (10/2014)
93 points. Wine Spectator
Outer quote mark Lushly textured, this red cuts a rich swath of spicy plum and cherry flavors, with accents of leather and tobacco, until the beefy tannins corral all the elements on the finish. Balanced on the tannic side, this should find equilibrium with time. *Highly Recommended* (BS) Inner quote mark (10/2014)

In the 2020 vintage in Gevrey-Chambertin, yields were super low and temperatures were hotter than most Burgundian winemakers are accustomed. Many picked too late when the sugars were high and the fruit really ripe, but that was not the play. Still, Ann remained as cool in those hot temps as she did so many years ago in Napa, concentrating more on acid levels than sugars and picking at just the right time. This wine is absolutely singing – it’s an age-worthy beauty that should be even better in 4-7 years.

“There are 6,500 cases of the superb 2006 Dominus (91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot). Its dark plum/purple color is accompanied by aromas and flavors of truffles, forest floor, black cherries, black currants, and Asian spices. One of the finest wines of the vintage, it is complete, full-bodied, and seamlessly built with beautiful ripe tannins, low acidity, and a luscious, layered mouthfeel. The aromatics are even more evolved and complex than the 2005’s. The 2006 should drink well for 20-25 years. These are the two strongest back to back vintages for Dominus since 1990-1991 and 2001-2002.” -Robert Parker, Jr.
This is my Burgundy discovery of the year. The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge features a perfumed and very pretty nose that reflects notes of ripe berries, violets, and a touch of earth. The fruit is so detailed and pure, a hallmark of this special vintage, with excellent energy that finishes a mile long.
The third release of three batches from Booker’s Bourbon 2023 Collection is Booker’s Batch 2023-03 ‘Might Fine Batch.’ These mini-releases have become extremely popular, and for good reason. “The vanilla and brown sugar sweet notes come through very well from the white oak barrels this bourbon aged in for over seven years. The taste is great and full bodied; when I added a splash of water, it opened up some great flavors, with a finish that gives a lovely “Kentucky Hug. My Dad would say that this is a Mighty Fine batch of Booker’s.” -Fred Noe
