Gianni Doglia represents the third generation of his family to organically farm 10 hectare in Asti. His grandfather was a sharecropper in the ‘40s and purchasing the drop-dead beautiful Doglia estate represented a life long dream of making wine from grapes he grew on land he owned.
The Doglia vines of Barbera, Moscato, Nebbiolo and Grignolino are rooted in the white calcareous clay at the highest elevations in Asti. Gianni always hand-harvests his grapes. The Grignolino spends very short time on the skins and then is pressed without them, leaving a beautiful violet color.
The 2019 Grignolino has a killer nose of wild strawberries, savory spice and lilac. Don’t let the color fool you, it’s deeply concentrated, loaded with fresh red fruits and finishes long and dry with firm tannins. Pair with prosciutto, burrata, simple pastas and pizza.

The new release is here from outstanding winemaking team of Michel Rolland, Charles Thomas, Andy Erickson and David Jelenik. This one always represents one of the best quality-to-price ratios in all of Napa Cab and in the stellar 2021 vintage, this really stands out as one of the best the Valley has to offer. It’s a racy mix of Coombsville fruit from Atlas Peak that absolutely roars out of the bottle. Always one of Napa’s great bargains and a must have even as the price starts to sneak up here a little bit.
Not Eligible for Futher Discount-From famed winemaker, Robert Foley comes an absolute delight of a bottle of wine. A seamless Bordeaux blend of 80% Cabernet, 17% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot that is incredibly smoothly now but should have another decade easy of prime drinking. It is the definition of a Saturday Night bottle of wine. One to cherish for a special occasion.
Anne Sery describes her Trousse Chemise Cabernets as an ode to the Left Bank and her winemaking roots. It’s a beautiful and fresh Cabernet with aromas that leap from the glass with of black raspberry, violets, and creme de liquor notes. The mouth gives generous amounts of juicy black fruits at the core with hints of baking spice and a smooth, savory finish. This is a terrific partner for just about anything from hard cheese, to poultry, summer salads, you name it!
