Flowers Pinot Noir Moon Select 2013

Categories , ,

The creme de la creme from Flowers and a very special bottling. This one was actually the last vintage of ‘Moon Select’ the winery ever made.

This is a long-term bottling project at Flowers originally named after Moon Nurseries in Pennsylvania (which is owned by the Flowers family). It is a big, savory, age-worthy beauty that was made with 40% whole cluster and the result of the five best barrels from the vintage.

True Pinot Noir enthusiasts and collectors will remember, this was the Flowers’ calling card for so many years. Only made in the best vintages, I always loved these wines and wish they still made them!

Original price was: $130.00.Current price is: $109.00.

Flagship Bottling (Last Vintage Ever Made)

This is a super special bottling from the legendary Flowers as it was the last they bottled under ‘Moon Select’ in favor of focusing exclusively on single-vineyard projects. The ‘Moon Select’ was always the favorite of two famous critics, Robert Parker, Jr. and Jancis Robinson. It’s easy to see why- it’s much more big and powerful than most others from Flowers. Combining 60% Camp Meeting Ridge Vyd with 40% Sea View Ridge Vineyard, this is brooding Pinot Noir with a lot of deep, dark flavors and structure. With whole cluster fermentation a big part of this one, this is for fans of BIG Pinots.
