94 Points, Wine Enthusiast
Immediately this wine is one to contemplate. Aromas of Mexican cocoa dusted over roasted plums, mulling spices, sweet tobacco and the earthy notes of a freshly racked lawn with the leaf pile as high as one’s head. Unctuous, the wine fills the mouth with cherry pie flavors with a savory edge to it that is buttressed by fine tannins, dried herbs and a hint of smoke on the elegant finish. Drink Now-2040
Familia Pasqua Amarone della Valpolicella 2019
#57 Wine of the Year (Wine Enthusiast 2025 Top 100 Wines)
This is one of those triumphant wines you would expect from the fantastic winery that was recently named Wine Enthusiast’s ‘Innovator of the Year’. It’s the only Amarone featured on a Top 100 list in 2025, and deservingly so. What I love about it is that it has so many different layers that offers different experiences. The rustic leathery notes that balance the vibrant, super fresh and vibrant cherry and blackberry notes – everything working together with such ease. Wine Enthusiast started their review by writing “Immediately, this wine is one to contemplate.” No argument here from me. This is a special age-worthy Amarone at a fairly affordable price and is ready to steal the show at any dinner table.

MORE INFO
Pasqua is a dynamic and innovative winery based in Verona, Italy, that has been a family-run operation for nearly a century. While deeply rooted in the traditions of the Veneto region—producing classic wines like Amarone and Valpolicella—Pasqua has earned a reputation for its bold and unconventional approach to winemaking.
The family views winemaking as an art form and have famously collaborated with artists and creative projects, which has helped them redefine classic Italian styles and appeal to a new generation of wine drinkers.
This commitment to innovation and pushing boundaries has brought Pasqua significant international recognition in addition to being a household name in Italy. The winery was named ‘Innovator of the Year’ winner by Wine Enthusiast in 2023, an accolade that celebrates their forward-thinking philosophy as well as their impact on the Veneto region as a whole.
