Our last Dumol allocations I was able to get my hands on sold out in under 90 minutes. So if you’re the racing type or already know what’s in these bottles, skip down to the buy button as there are only 42 bottles of each to spread around.
That offer included Wine Enthusiast’s #1 Rated Chardonnay of the 2018 vintage from Dumol superstar winemaker Andy Smith. So when Andy declared the following about the Estate Chardonnay in 2020 (which is 40% cheaper), I was immediately on the phone.
The 2020 Estate Chardonnay is “our finest Chardonnay from the 2020 vintage and one of the greatest Chardonnays we’ve ever bottled…” Considering they also made Chardonnay from Hyde, Dutton Ranch, Heitz…this is pretty high praise for this estate single vineyard from their own Sonoma Coast Kearney Vineyard.
That should be enough but there are also already two 96 point scores to go along with it. The wine is phenomenal, but the winemaker himself may have described it best: “The vines’ low yields this season drive the deep, rich structure so the wine is textural and chewy with powerful fruit extract. The high natural acidity picks up the wine and cuts through all this density, so the flavors echo long and clear. What a magical wine.”

96 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2020 Chardonnay Estate Vineyard is scented of apricot, jasmine, cashew and pretty herbal undertones, with youthful new oak spices. The medium-bodied palate offers unmatched concentration and balancing freshness, with a broad, satiny texture, a deep core of stone fruit and a very long, flavorful finish. This will continue to unwind in bottle over the next decade.
96 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
The 2020 Chardonnay DuMOL Estate Vineyard is another super-fragrant wine with notes of green apple Jolly Rancher candy, fresh white blossoms, and a delicate hint of flint. The palate is ripe and inviting, and the wine juicy and long on the finish, with lemon curd and fresh herbs. Drink it over the next 20 years.

Stephan Steinmetz is a star in the Mosel wine region. His old vines are rooted in Kimmeridgian limestone, the exact same vein of rock that winds its way from Sancerre through Chablis and Champagne to its final out-cropping here in the Obermosel. His Elbling is glorious — both completely unlike anything I’ve ever had and also eerily familiar. The color is almost clear, some might call it silver. A stunning nose of green apples and lemon peel gives way to fresh pear and bright citrus fruits on the palate. It’s a stunningly focused wine with a healthy dose of minerality and acid zip, not unlike great Sancerre/Chablis and bone dry.
92 Points (Best Buy), Wine Enthusiast – 90 Points, James Suckling
The winery could never expected their Tuscan Vermentino would become as integral as it has – even 25 years later, it’s still a key piece of the puzzle for Campo Maccione. It’s an unassuming wine with great viscosity and bright, savory flavors that way overdelivers for the price. James Suckling agreed, as did Wine Enthusiast. Suckling gave it a 90 and deemed it “an interesting take on Tuscan Vermentino.” Wine Enthusiast took it up a few notches, attaching a coveted ‘Best Buy’ designate to the wine along with a 92-point review for the wine “with a sophisticated restraint.”
This is a super elegant Meursault from the family-run estate located in the village of Monthelie, between Volnay and Meursault in the heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. It leads with nutty aromas of brioche, fresh butter and delicate citrus and is extremely well structured, long and stylish with great purity of fruit.
Glistening pale yellow-green to the rim, infused with mouth-watering aromas of ripe apple, pear and quince, and crushed almonds with honey and rich creamy middle and a fantastic rush of acidity and minerality that are present throughout. A calling card of Bonhomme’s Vire-Clesse, if you closed your eyes and took a sip, it would have you convinced you were drinking Meursault at least a 3x price tag.
