Let me tell you about the incredible father-son team behind this gem. Philippe Chéron, after leading Domaine Misset-Chéron in Vougeot for over a decade, is now writing an exciting new chapter in his family’s deep Côte de Nuits history. He’s just merged with former Domaine des Varoilles in Gevrey – another piece of the Chéron family legacy.
But what’s really exciting is watching his son Paul come into his own. This young gun studied agronomy and enology in Beaune, then cut his teeth at two of the absolute best – Domaines Ghislaine Barthod and Louis Boillot in Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny.
Clos de l’Orme is a special vineyard in Chambolle-Musigny, with a location that’s super key to its reputation. It is situated on a gentle slope and borders the famous Premier Cru vineyard of “Les Charmes.” Its soil is rich with limestone and gravel, a runoff from the Chambolle valley, which contributes to the wine’s unique character.
