Dehlinger Estate Unfiltered Chardonnay 2019

Founded in 1975 by Carole & Tom Dehlinger, Dehlinger winery is still family owned and operated by their two daughters – Eva Dehlinger & Carmen. The estate is primarily composed of 20+ year old vines that are dry-farmed with a focus on sustainability, producing roughly 3,000cs of Estate Chardonnay & Pinot Noir annually and has been a consistent top player in the Russian River Valley for about two decades now.

Always a critic darling, this is what Antonio Galloni and Vinous had to say about the latest set of releases, “Eva Dehlinger presented a gorgeous set of 2019s.” They’re not even the ones who went gangbusters– Wine Enthusiast went to town on Eva’s latest releases, making them all but impossible to get a hold of…unless you know someone ;).

Original price was: $50.00.Current price is: $44.00.

“Impressive in salty pineapple and an underlying richness of crème brûlée, this wine remains balanced within its luxurious layers, with persistent freshness throughout. Unfiltered, it offers structure, graceful elegance and length, while being cohesive on the finish.”

This is a gorgeous wine that’s easily one of the best RRV Chards made in the last few years. Produced from 8 acres planted from 1975-1988, the grapes are whole cluster pressed and fermented in French Oak using native yeasts. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and a year of aging on the lees in 25% new French oak before being bottled unfiltered. It’s got everything going for it– the freshness and dynamism of a classic costal Chardonnay with the laser precision of a White Burgundy.
