This incredible effort from Clos L’Eglise is a bordeaux blend comprised of 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. It comes from the Right Bank Pomerol appellation. Winemaker and Proprietor Hélène Garcin produced one of her best efforts ever– a big, lavish, intricately woven wine that will continue to develop for years to come. Robert Parker, Jr. reviewed this wine himself in December of 2011 and bestowed a raving 98 pt review.
He had this to say about the wine:
“This is one of the sexiest wines in Pomerol in this vintage, offering up notes of melted caramel, sweet mocha, blackberry and black cherry fruit, with hints of loamy soil and unsmoked cigar tobacco as well as a touch of white chocolate and some subtle toasty oak. Round, opulent and unctuously textured, with a full-bodied mouthfeel, fabulous purity, and no hard edges, this sumptuous, fleshy, lavishly rich Pomerol can be drunk now and over the next 25 years.”

I was lucky enough to secure six cases of this incredible Bordeaux blend from Pomerol. I expect it will age gracefully for decades to come!

Anne Sery describes her Trousse Chemise Cabernets as an ode to the Left Bank and her winemaking roots. It’s a beautiful and fresh Cabernet with aromas that leap from the glass with of black raspberry, violets, and creme de liquor notes. The mouth gives generous amounts of juicy black fruits at the core with hints of baking spice and a smooth, savory finish. This is a terrific partner for just about anything from hard cheese, to poultry, summer salads, you name it!
93 Points, James Suckling
Avignonesi’s wines took Nicholas Wines by storm last year with their ‘Grifi’ SuperTuscan, a highly rated, highly delicious bottle that put the winery firmly on my radar. It’s a great bottle of wine, but at this price – it completely overdelivers which is exactly what you’re looking for.

“The 2021 Malbec Reserva, from Vistalba, Lujan de Cuyo, was 60% aged in barrels for 12 months. Purple in color. The nose presents notes of fresh plum and violets, white pepper, strawberry, hints of spice and aromas from the aging process. It’s initially indulgent in the mouth, with good fat, and volume and a velvety texture. The flavors are bold and full-bodied. This 2021 overdelivers at the price.” -Vinous
96 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate – 96 Points, Decanter
96 Points from Robert Parker himself along with extremely high praise. “The wine hits all cylinders in 2010.” This is one the great Margaux wines of the vintage. Probably the greatest Lascombes made to date…” Add in 10 years of aging with perfect provenance and you have our top Bordeaux offer of the year. A third of the price of Palmer and a mere tenth of Château Margaux – $139 per bottle & free shipping on 2. You’ll want two.
