Dark-fruited, absolutely packed with energy yet remarkably smooth and delicious. I had this the other day at a tasting at lunch and every time I went back to it, it got better – especially once it starts to pick up momentum with a few swirls of the glass. This is crazy Right Bank value at a price that makes no sense.
The red and black fruits do all the talking here. Loud and proud, this is a wine that screams for the backyard. James Suckling gave it 92 points, calling it “vibrant and mouthwatering with vivid fruit and orange peel character.” At our pricepoint, not many 92-point wines like this exist.

Château Saint-Benoît is a four-generation family estate covering 11 hectares of clay over deep limestone soils in Montagne Saint-Émilion. Benoît Cyren Decoly has been managing the estate for the last few decades, vinifying in the traditional wine in 400-litre oak barrels and aging it for 18 months, to add subtleties, and round out any harshness.
