California Dreamin’ 3-Pack

$75.00

The colder temps are on the way  and that means I’ve got warmer weather and California on my mind. But since we’re not getting out anywhere, a California-clad 3-pack is just going to have to do the trick. Not only that, but we’ve got three great wines in there that are absolute crowd pleasers including a new hot ticket item from Sonoma County. The 2015 Cabernet from Pied a Terre has great energy- elegance and freshness with mature tannins. Clos Julien has been our top-selling Chardonnay this year since we featured it, and it’s really easy to see why. Minerally and fresh with great length and and a delicious creamy finish. And lastly, a 94-point stunner from Pete Stolpman- who has established himself as arguably the best Syrah winemaker in the country. It’s a juicy, full-bodied knockout. This 3-pack will be seeing its way onto a lot tables this holiday season– perfect for a honey baked ham or a roasted beef tenderloin meal!

94 Points, Antonio Galloni- Vinous
The 2018 Syrah Estate is a fabulous example of both the estate and everything Ballard Canyon is about. Fabulously deep and expansive, the Estate captures tremendous character. The flavors are dark, brooding and so rich. Black cherry, plum, leather, spice and dried herbs abound. The 50% whole clusters are nicely integrated, but the tannins are equally imposing, so a measure of patience is critical. All of the other Syrahs in this range are compelling, but to me the Estate is the most complete. It’s a reference-point wine for the appellation.
