Massimiliano Di Franco is certainly a unique figure in the world of Etna wine. His approach to winemaking sets him apart from other producers, as he ages his wines for extended periods in large oak barrels and bottles, often releasing them six to eight years after harvest. This patient approach allows the wines to develop complexity and depth.

Di Franco cultivates some of the oldest Nerello Mascalese vines on Etna, many of which are over 80 years old. His vineyards, located on the slopes of Mount Etna, benefit from the region’s unique volcanic soil and extreme climate. The combination of ancient vines, volcanic terroir, and extended aging results in wines that are powerful, elegant, and truly reflective of their origin.
