Broglia is from your average Italian white wine producer. This is one of the most historic estates in all of Piedmont, with vineyard records dating back to 972 AD. Over a thousand years of history on the same piece of ground is a story that very few can tell.
Bruno Broglia purchased the property back in 1972, just two years before the region received its official DOC status. These guys established themselves as one of the best from the beginning and never relinquished that role. Today the third generation is running one of the most important estates in all of Gavi. It’s a huge, gorgeous property that’s home to the largest single unbroken vineyard plot in the entire appellation, with over 70 hectares planted exclusively to Cortese, and vines that date back about 75 years.
