Over the last 20 years, arguably the biggest, most highly decorated name in the crowd is none other than Bergstrom Wines, where Oregon born Josh Bergstrom has become an annual staple of multiple Top 100 lists, and has seen his wine showered with more 92+ scores from Wine Spectator than any other Oregon winery.
Josh’s operation is small and mighty. He spent more than five years studying and learning in Burgundy, where he met his wife and mastered the art of making truly cellar worthy Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In the late 1990’s he brought that knowledge back to the states, and started a small production winery in the Dundee Hills.
Since inception, his wines have highlighted some of the very best of red and white wines to come out of the state with my favorite wine in his portfolio the Sigrid Chardonnay, a tribute to his late grandmother. But his Pinot Noir is no doubt his calling card, and what has earned him his latest trip to the Top 100 charts.

94 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2019 Pinot Noir Cumberland Reserve has a medium ruby-purple color and opens with some flinty tones over cranberries, bitter citrus and amaro aromas. Grainy and fresh, the medium-bodied palate offers crunchy fruits and fine earthy accents, finishing long, uplifted and spicy.
93 Points, Wine Spectator
Generous and well- structured with savory raspberry, tarragon and black tea flavors that build tension toward refined tannins.

“The 2020 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is truly sensational. It begins with striking aromas of fresh blackberries, blueberries and dark plums that are laced with fresh spring florals, mocha, sweet exotic spices, graphite and gravel nuances all taking shape. The palate is full-bodied and displays a remarkable combination of power and elegance throughout. This is beautifully structured and extremely expressive, as it possesses outstanding depth and concentration all they way through the long, finessed finish. Year after year, the Columbia Valley Cabernet is one of the most impressive wines, and there is no exception here, as it combines all the wonderful qualities of the 2020 vintage from Quilceda Creek into one expression. This is fantastic already and readers will be in for a real treat, as this simply marvelous wine will continue to deliver the goods for years to come.”
The newly released Fiancetto Howell Mt. Cabernet is a dream – a gorgeous, elegant dark-fruited Cabernet Sauvignon that is it picks up time in the glass, unfurls its full signature of cedar laced cassis nose and mid palate of chocolate-covered cherries and savory spices. Only four palates of this (224 cases) were made off a gorgeous, sprawling high elevation spot 1500 feet above sea level. It’s full and plush and finishes fresh and oh so long. The price is crazy for Howell Mountain Cabernet but that’s what Ry Richards and Fiancetto is all about.

“The 2021 Malbec Reserva, from Vistalba, Lujan de Cuyo, was 60% aged in barrels for 12 months. Purple in color. The nose presents notes of fresh plum and violets, white pepper, strawberry, hints of spice and aromas from the aging process. It’s initially indulgent in the mouth, with good fat, and volume and a velvety texture. The flavors are bold and full-bodied. This 2021 overdelivers at the price.” -Vinous
#3 Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2021
96 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate – 95 Points, Wine Spectator
We are one of the very few folks who have Wine Spectator’s #3 Wine of the Year. This is definitely not one to miss. The 2016 vintage showcases this prized vineyard in all its glory; notes of wild black fruit, thyme, mint, eucalyptus, and bay are lifted and enjoyed with the polished tannin and mouthwatering freshness of this wine. Regarded as one of the best vintages in the last few decades, the 2016 Martha’s Vineyard has been aged to perfection for immediate enjoyment at release and will continue to reward for the next 20+ years.
