The 2022 Paicines Chardonnay strikes a perfect balance between creamy texture and bright acidity. When you taste it, you’ll immediately notice flavors of ripe pear and honeysuckle, with a subtle hint of butterscotch. It’s a testament to the unique terroir of Paicines AVA, a hidden gem in California’s Central Coast. Not for long though. The microclimate there is something special, producing grapes with intense flavor and great acidity. Benziger is just one of a few big name players that have flocked to the area.
Winemaker Lisa Amaroli puts on a clinic with this vintage. I’ve tried a few iterations of this wine, but nothing quite like the new release.
